Objective: Develop a new design form into a production ready platform. Vehicle is pure EV and needed a rapid battery exchange system. It needed to be capable of carrying 400lbs while maintaining a top speed of 25mph.
Strategy: This project had a few unique challenges. These vehicles are required to be extremely durable and reliable, fitting the needs of law enforcement and security professionals. It had to be designed to be built cost-effectively in North America using advanced materials and processes. Therefore it had to be designed to be able to take advantage of the latest breakthroughs in rapid prototyping (RP) and rapid manufacturing (RM) in order to launch on schedule.
Results: T3 Motion's "T3 Series" won the 2007 Law Enforcement Innovation Award for best vehicle. Over 20,000 units have been manufactured in California and can be seen at airports and sporting events Worldwide.
